The Detroit Tigers selected Chris Myers, a long baseball infielder at the University of Toledo, in the 2021 MLB draft.

Myers was selected in the 13th round and was 375th overall.

In June he was named Mid-American Conference Player of the Year. This is the first rocket to receive this award.

Myers won the MAC Triple Crown with 15 home runs, a school record, a batting average of 0.378, and 55 RBIs. He is the league’s first triple crown winner since 1998.

He finished the season with a slugging percentage of 11th in the country and an on-base percentage of 16th.

Myers will be the 47th player in the history of the program designed by MLB. It is the first rocket designed since Los Adolf was named the New York Mets in the 2018 draft.
