Riverside rolls up Toledo marine fire protection business

The Riverside Co. has acquired Marine Fire Sales & Service Inc. from Toledo as the latest add-on for the CertaSite Fire and Life Safety Platform.

The acquisition marks the 12th associated engagement for the platform since the initial investment in 2018. In 2019, Riverside founded CertaSite itself, a family of companies headquartered in Indianapolis. The terms of the contract were not disclosed.

“We are very excited to bring Marine on board our rapidly growing CertaSite platform,” said Loren Schlachet, Managing Partner of Riverside, in a statement. “This addition will increase CertaSite’s available technician capacity as we expand the company’s presence in the Toledo market.”

The company plans to invest in sales and marketing measures and to improve the utilization of technicians through technology and training.

Other companies that are part of the CertaSite family include: Advanced Fire, a CertaSite company, Pennsylvania; ABC Fire Extinguisher Co., Ohio; Approved Protection Systems (Michigan); Certified Security (Indiana); Company One Suppression (Illinois and Iowa); County Fire Safety (Ohio); Erlich Fire Protection (Michigan); Field’s Fire Safety (Michigan); Great Lakes, Michigan fire and safety equipment; Spears Fire & Safety (Michigan); and Starfire Systems and Starfire Suppression Equipment (Wisconsin).

Riverside is a global private equity firm headquartered in Cleveland that invests in growing companies valued at up to $ 400 million in the smaller end of the middle class.
