Notre Dame football fans better buy Peacock by September 11 against the Toledo Rockets.
With streaming being the wave of the future, it was only a matter of time before the Notre Dame football team would air a regular season game exclusively on NBC’s Peacock streaming platform.
It’s correct. If you want to see the Fighting Irish’s home opener against the Toledo Rockets from the MAC, you must have purchased Peacock. Notre Dame has this incredible television deal with NBC that airs most of their games in the afternoon. Assuming a road win over Florida State Seminoles on Labor Day Weekend, Notre Dame should stand 1-0.
“Since airing Sunday football replays with Lindsey Nelson, we’ve always sought media innovation – our partnership with NBC and Peacock only solidifies that mission,” said Jack Swarbrick, Notre Dame Sporting Director. “Bringing Notre Dame Football to Peacock is just the next step in the development of our relationship.”
Notre Dame football: home game against Toledo will be exclusive to Peacock
In addition to being broadcast exclusively on Peacock at 2:30 PM ET, this will be the first ever game with Drew Brees on the booth. The former Super Bowl champion quarterback for the New Orleans Saints and college football legend when he was on the Purdue Boilermakers will be alongside Mike Tirico this season. Kathryn Happen will be the sideline reporter for NBC.
While most Notre Dame fans will buy Peacock if they haven’t already, what about those poor die-hard fans of Toledo football? This is a huge chance for the Rockets to take on the Golden Domers, and instead of watching it on NBC, they’ll have to buy Peacock to see their favorite team likely lose. You have to empathize with Toledo fans …
Notre Dame, which airs games on Peacock, only expands their potential sources of income across the board.
