Kayak rental near Toledo | wtol.com

The water and bike rentals were established to meet the demand for more outdoor activities after the pandemic.

HURON, Ohio – If you’re looking for a way to get outside and enjoy the outdoors this summer, a new business in Erie County has plenty to offer.

Tucked away on the Huron River in Huron, Lake Erie Adventure Co. is a new company that emerged from the pandemic.

Owner Justin Brady is a die-hard nature lover who vacates national parks with his family as much as possible, and he knew people would bite to go outside this summer.

“(There’s) such an excitement for outdoor recreation, from RVs to kayaking, paddle boarding and biking. So that was the last ticker, it’s always been a dream of ours to do that,” Brady said.

With hourly, half-day, or daily rentals, anyone of any skill level can get out on the water in a kayak. They are aimed at beginners who might want to try a body of water or a jetty a little closer to home.

“We offer product launches from our location, but we also offer delivery to various locations to make it more accessible to consumers,” said Brady.

If you’re really not in the mood for an adventure on the water, they also go on adventures on land and have a selection of bicycles and electric bikes.

Lake Erie Adventure Co. has a full store where you can purchase your own kayak, bike, and a selection of outdoor clothing.

Brady said they already do yoga on the river every Saturday, will soon start sunset paddling on Lake Erie, and will offer local nonprofits the opportunity to use the kayak rentals to raise funds for charity.

“We’re donating money to the organization of their choice and basically we have a week-long window of time so they basically generate as much business as possible to raise those funds,” said Brady.
