Art on the Mall University of Toledo

The construction of the Centennial Mall forces a change of location to the Alumni building.

TOLEDO, Ohio – The University of Toledo is bringing art back to the mall on July 25 after a year on hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Due to construction work, this year’s event will take place at the usual location in the Centennial Mall in the Center for Alumni and Donor Engagement, 4510 Dorr St. Almost 100 artists from around the country will be featured from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“Art in the Mall is one of the Alumni Association’s long-standing traditions,” said William Pierce, vice president, alumni engagement. “In its 28th year, the juried art show is a great opportunity for social commitment and to present the excellent work of artists throughout the region.”

Art on the Mall will display a wide range of artwork including acrylic, glass, pen and ink, oil, mixed media, photography, ceramics and jewelry to view and buy. There will be a young artist area for children, live jazz music and dining options.

Art is judged by representatives from the Detroit Institute of Art. Awards are given to the best artists and the UToledo Best of Show Award is given to an artist affiliated with the university.

Free parking spaces are available in front of the property. A shuttle service transports guests and their purchases.

WTOL is sponsoring this event.
